You thought you could keep Kieran away from boxing podcasting? Joe Frazier didn’t stay down against George Foreman, Carlos Alcaraz recently authored the best tennis comeback in history against Jannik Sinner, and Kieran is indefatigable in the face of corporate maneuvering killing his boxing podcasts.
Kieran’s new endeavor is co-hosting the “Fighter Health Podcast” with VADA founder, International Boxing Hall of Famer, and multiple-time Showtime Boxing Podcast guest Margaret Goodman. Kieran and Margaret are committed to a conversation about, well, fighter health — PED use, ring deaths, weight cutting, and all the gnarly bits of boxing that too often go undiscussed.
To help, they’re speaking with a variety of guests — fighters, matchmakers, managers, scientists, and others. They’ve spoken to Hall of Famer Tim Bradley about his in-ring career, regulator Marc Ratner about a conversation he had with Mills Lane during the Bite Fight, and Top Rank’s chief matchmaker Bruce Trampler about ring deaths. Not all the conversations are fun, but they’re essential to understanding the danger of boxing and what the fighters put themselves through.
We might even have to have Eric on at some point, in the boxing podcast version of Manny Pacquiao coming out of retirement. Unless he’s too washed to break out the mic.
If you’d like to listen to episodes straight from the source, here’s the Fighter Health Podcast website. But we’ll also be releasing upcoming episodes onto the ICBP feed, and hope whether you're an old or new fan of that pod, you’ll join Kieran and Margaret on this new journey!
Yes!!! I'll be listening! Please get Eric!
